Wrestling Shoes
Wrestling Shoes — Grip, Speed & Control on the Mat
Whether you're stepping onto the mat for a freestyle tournament or honing your craft in the gym, the right footwear is your most essential piece of kit. Wrestling shoes give you the grip, ankle support, and lightweight feel you need to move fast and stay in control.
Why Wrestling Shoes Matter
Unlike regular trainers, wrestling shoes are built with a high-top ankle collar for support, a thin flexible sole for mat feel, and a grippy rubber outsole that bites into the canvas. They're lighter than boxing boots and more supportive than barefoot — the sweet spot for grappling.
What We Stock
ASICS — The most trusted name in wrestling. The Matflex and Snapdown series are competition-proven and built to last.
adidas — Lightweight, breathable, and designed for speed. The HVC and Combat Speed lines are favourites among serious wrestlers.
Nike — The Inflict and Takedown models offer elite-level grip with a sock-like fit.
How to Choose
Fit: Wrestling shoes should be snug — your toes should nearly touch the end. They'll break in after a few sessions. Go half a size up from your regular shoe if you're between sizes.
Sole type: Split-sole gives you more flexibility and mat feel. Full-sole offers more stability for heavier wrestlers.
Ankle height: High-top for maximum support during scrambles. Low-top if you prioritise speed and mobility.
