In the mid 2000's, our favourite thing to do when attending MMA events in Las Vegas was to purchase our yearly supply of t-shirts from Las Vegas Fight Shop. We would come home in disbelief that a similar store hadn’t been opened in Australia yet. With previous experience in retail, we thought, we can do that. In July 2011, we opened in Melbourne with a bang! A line of 100+ people stretched around the block waiting to meet UFC legend Chuck Liddell.
We had a steady flow of customers as we began to build our brand, but we quickly learnt that our customers would define our long term success. Our initial concept was simple; t-shirts, MMA shorts, BJJ uniforms, and some training gear. Customers quickly educated us on what they expected from our business - they wanted authentic training equipment and apparel.
Armed with the priceless feedback from our customers, we travelled around the world securing the biggest brands with the highest quality products. Our stores became stocked with Hayabusa, Cleto Reyes, Fairtex, Kingz, Everlast, adidas, Tatami Fightwear, Nike, RVCA, Engage, Bad Boy, Cliff Keen Athletics and many more.
With a diverse and talented team of people, we have incorporated a look and feel to our brand that is inclusive to all. We always want to ensure our customers feel insipired when walking into one of our stores. And most importantly, we want them to be greeted by staff members who can share their knowledge of the sport and products because they actually use them too.
After 10 years, we still love what we do. Now with four retail stores and our online presence, we continue to establish ourselves as the premium supplier of all things MMA.
